У статті з’ясовано, що архетипи дому, бездомності, не-дому, антидому, дому-мрії в романі Василя Шевчука "Прощання з самим собою" функціонують у двох планах: фізичний простір (малий дім) і ментальний простір (великий дім). Архетип дому втілює буття особистості / нації, вигнаної зі своєї землі, відчуженої від своєї духовної культури (архетип бездомності), змушеної шукати тимчасових притулків (архетип не-дому). Локуси казенної квартири та майстерні уособлюють духовне провалля (архетип антидому), засіб маніпулювання і випробовування особистості на духовну міцність. Архетип дому-мрії – сподіване повернення особистості / націїі до оновленого дому – сучасного, просторого, розумно спроектованого. Syzonenko N. M. Individual Author’s Modification of the Archetypes of Home, Homelessness, Non-Home, Anti-Home, Home of Dream in the Novel "Farewell to Himself" by Vasyl Shevchuk. The archetype of home, its Ukrainian mental version – the hut, belongs to the fundamental archetypes that came into common use in human consciousness. Individual author’s modifications of the archetypes of home, homelessness, non-home, anti-home, home of dream in the novel "Farewell to himself" by Vasyl Shevchuk are studied in the article with the help of descriptive, hermeneutic, archetypal methods. It is found out that the specific feature of the plot and composition of the novel is the presence of the philosophical and life (individual destiny of the artist) lines, which are linked through the archetypes of home, homelessness, non-home, antihome, home of dream, which correlate with different types of relations – opposed, cross, identical. The given archetypes in the novel operate in two ways: physical space (small home) and mental space (large home). The archetype of home embodies existence of the personality / nation driven out of their own land, cut off their spiritual culture (the archetype of homelessness), forced to seek temporary shelters (the archetype of non-home). The loci of the state apartment and the workshop personify spiritual emptiness (the archetype of anti-home), the means of manipulating and testing the personality for spiritual strength. The archetype of home of dream is the personality’s / nation’s expected coming the renewed home – modern, spacious, rationally designed. The author uses techniques of paradox and metamorphosis to reflect moral and spiritual deformations of the present given through the prism of the archetypes under consideration. V. Shevchuk’s interpretation of the archetypes of home, homelessness, non-home, anti-home, home of dream is formed by awareness of consequences of the social and spiritual crisis of Ukrainian nation, which lost its connection with the native land, its eternal values. At the same time, the author expresses his hope for the return of forced refugees to their spiritual bonds, their decent life on their own land.
